Once I got all 4 door posts lined up and clamped in place, I started tacking them.

Here's the B pillar almost finished. It's not a roll of nickels, but hey, I'm new at this.

Here's the C pillar. I don't think the top will come flying off.

A 60 grit fiber-backed sanding disk quickly smooths out the bird poop welds.

Here's what careful planning gets you. With the B and C pillars lined up perfectly straight, the little side window lines up great. I will be able to fill in the curvature of the window with the welder and then use a grinder to get the right shape.

Starting to tack around the back side. I spaced the tacks out a couple inches and went slow to avoid warping this large, mostly flat area.

You can see how much the top has to be pushed out to meet up with the bottom. Impossible without the relief cut.

As the top swung out to line up with the bottom, it created a slight gap. It was not noticable when I just slid the entire roof back to check the fit earlier. Oh well, at least I'll have good penetration!

After welding it up solid and grinding down the high spots, and a quick hit with the DA sander, it looks pretty good. This picture here shows the most welding I've ever done.

Here's the other side. As close to perfect as an amatuer can get, I guess. I was nervous about this area, but I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.
