Finally the first big purchase for the shop. I've been researching air compressors for a couple months now. I wanted to make sure I got something that would last a long time, not just a little cheapy. This is a Campbell Hausfeld 7 HP, 60 gallon tank from Lowe's. It will put out 10.3 cfm at 90 psi, which should be enough to run any of the tools I need in my shop for a long time.

I love sparks! I got a rotary sander with 80 grit sandpaper, which knocks down welds in a hurry, and a die grinder, with a 3M paint/rust removal wheel. That's enough to get things started.

The base of the door posts have some ugly welds that were just asking for it!

The rest of the setup includes a pressure shutoff valve, an air filter, and a pressure monitor gauge. I went with the nice thick 50' air hose. It's surprisingly easy to unwind and wind up. I though it would kink up, but it doesn't. I still have some work to do on the flames on my tool box!

I had to have a lesson in residential wiring to get the air compressor going. I installed a 220 volt breaker, ran the wire over the ceiling, and installed an outlet like a dryer uses. It's all heavy duty stuff.
